Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) Acting Director General Mr. Mukula Mukasa and Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) Managing Director Dr. Samuel Bwalya, yesterday met to discuss the framework for the creation of an investment vehicle to help support the growth of local enterprises.

The credit guarantee facility to operate under a company called DBZ Capital Ltd will be based on apex lending to local enterprises in order to help them grow. The lending for DBZ Capital Ltd will be different from the traditional DBZ lending as it will be based on equity disbursements to local enterprises. This facility will help give local enterprises breathing space to grow.

ZDA and DBZ recently signed an MoU to help support the growth of local enterprises and to facilitate access to tailor made finance and business development support services.
