DBZ INJECTS K100,000.00 TO “PUSH”WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT
The Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) has pumped in a K100,000 to Push Women Network as a Bronze sponsor ahead of this year’s Lusaka Business Expo slated for the 4th to 6th May at East Park Mall.
Speaking at a partnership ceremony, Friday morning, DBZ Acting Managing Director, Maybin Muyawala said the Bank has developed the gender policy and guidelines aimed at ensuring that the projects it finances have an economic impact on marginalized groups such as women.
Muyawala said DBZ is in the process of developing the female entrepreneurship facility framework, which is a strategy to promote women in entrepreneurship.
“The Framework will enable the development of specific products and services and make available lines of credit dedicated to supporting women – led entrepreneurship,” Muyawala said.
He said the linkages at the Business Expo organised by The Push Women Network, if properly harnessed, will ultimately realize economic diversification, job creation, and digital advancement, along with other key development indicators.
“I want to applaud the Push Women Network for this initiative and for successfully bringing local and international industry players into one large business hub to drive the conversation toward various developmental agendas,” Muyawala added.
Speaking at the same event, Push Women Network Executive Director, Col. Mwizukanji Namwawa described as “exciting” DBZ’s support to the women’s network, adding that the successful hosting of the business expo is dependant on support from the business community such as DBZ, among others.
